The park...
is reminiscent of the landscape that first greeted early explorers and settlers.  A disabled-accessible boardwalk allows visitors the opportunity to view the swamp, while the Bottomland Trail meanders through the 80-acre National Landmark Area.  State champion trees are reminders of the great forests that once covered this area.  The interpretive center provides a history of the park and region as well as a description of the flora and fauna of the site.
